Comparative Study of the Quantitative and Qualitative Occurrence of Urban Vandalism and its Relationship with landuse in 1 and 4 districts of Tabriz

Abstract

The increasing growth of cities in recent decades has always caused problems for urban managers and sometimes for city dwellers. Large cities are not without problems and have many abnormalities along with the special facilities available to them. Urban abnormalities are manifested in many forms, one of which is urban vandalism, which is a set of behaviors and practices that occur in cities. In fact, it can be said that urban land use is a context for the occurrence of urban vandalism The present study aims to investigate the occurrence of urban vandalism and its relation to land use in one and four districts of Tabriz. The present study is applied in nature and descriptive-analytical. Data collection was done through libraries, field surveys and questionnaires. Statistical population is experts in this field and all people residing in one and four districts of Tabriz city were estimated using a Cochran formula of sample size 383 to analyze the population and to analyze data from HotSpot hot spot spatial statistics and IDW interpolation technique. In ArcGis 10.3.1 software and Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Wilcoxon statistical tests were used in Spss25 software. The findings of the study indicate that urban vandalism is more prevalent in district 4 than in district 1, and the most prevalent type of urban vandalism in these districts is the visual type and the highest rate of residential and then commercial vandalism.
