Abstract

One of the factors affecting sustainable socio-economic development is capital and its types. This article explains social and cultural capital on sustainable urban development. For this purpose, a combination of theories of sustainable urban development and the social and cultural capital of Bourdieu and Putnam was used as a theoretical framework. The research method is survey and the statistical population is people over 20 years old in Sari. The sampling method is multi-stage cluster and the sample size according to Cochran's formula is 384 people. Data collection tool is a researcher-made questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, path analysis and regression analysis using SPSS software. Formal credit was used to measure credit and the alpha value of sustainable urban development (economic 0.744 and social 0.758) and capital (cultural 0.823 and social 20.77) have good reliability.
Findings show that the amount of social and cultural capital as well as sustainable socio-economic development is above average. There is a positive and direct relationship between social capital and cultural capital with sustainable urban development (in the economic dimension and sustainable social development). That is, the more social capital or cultural capital, the higher the rate of sustainable urban development (economic and social). In multivariate regression analysis, cultural capital and social capital explain about 42.5% of the variance of sustainable urban development. According to the analytical results of the route, social capital has the highest direct impact on sustainable urban development. Therefore, raising the level of cultural capital and social capital can play an important role in people's attitudes towards sustainable urban development.
